Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver. So probably my favorite thing about this hitch is its appearance. It's going to be pretty low profile, and it's going to have a matte black carbide finish, and so it's really just going to blend in with a lot of the truck's plastic moldings, like our bumper plastic for example, and in my opinion that's just going to give it a really factory look. I also really like how easy this is going to be to use. The hitch pin hole, it's going to be 5/8 in size, and it's going to be about in the center of our receiver tube, so you're not going to have to reach your hand way back there to try to get it undone. more

So probably my favorite thing about this hitch is that it's going to give us a lot of performance and weight carrying capacity and still look pretty decent, that's because it is a class five. Most of the other class fives are really big and bulky and they take up a lot of space back here and just don't really look that great in my opinion. This one almost maintains more of a factory look. So it's going to have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, we're going to review and install the Draw-Tite class III 2-inch receiver tube hitch part number 75420. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. This is a completely steel and fully welded construction of our hitch. It's got a really nice black powder-coated finish so that it'll resist rust and corrosion over time. One of the really nice features about the hitch is we have an electrical bracket that's been pre-welded to the cross tube so we can hook up any trailer or electrical connection. This is our square cross tube so it's got a real sturdy design. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup - Curt- Video

Today on our 2001 Dodge Ram Pickup, we are going to review and install the Curt Class 4, Two Inch Tube Receiver Hitch, Part Number 14001. Here is what our hitch is going to look like once installed. As you can see, there is minimal showing of our cross tube but it is a sturdy square cross tube design with a fully welded construction. Then our Class 4, 2 inch receiver tube has chain hold-downs on each side and it's a 2 inch by 2 inch opening with a 5/8 pinhole pre-drilled all the way through the receiver tube. The hitch itself is capable of up to 1000 pounds of tongue weight and 10,000 pound tow capacity. Next, we will give you a couple measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for a new hitch such as ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most of the edge of the bumper is 3 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening down to the ground is 16 1/4 inches. We'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 3 1/2", from the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 21". Now let's go ahead an install our hitch. Let's go ahead and first begin by pointing out the attachment points that we'll be using to mount our hitch. There's a total of 6 attachment points, 3 on each side. For the two forward most locations, one on each side we'll be using the 3" long square hole spacer blocks with a 9/16 carriage bolts and a 9/16 flange nut. We'll go ahead and use the fish wire provided with the kit. more

We'll center the hitch pinhole to the outer most edge of the bumper its 3 1/4 inches from the top to the receiver tube opening to the ground is 19 inches. Now, lets go ahead with installation. Note, we've already gone ahead and lower and remove the spare tire for the easy installation of installing the hitch. The first step of our install we'll be removing the cap at the pre drilled point in the bumper. more

Today, on this 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 8-foot bed, were going to install part number c15607 from Curt. One thing known about this hitch is that its designed to go underneath the factory hitch. All right, the first thing we need to do is go ahead and install the hardware inside the frame. There are two large round holes thatll have blocks installed on top of them. All right, to slide our block in place we use a long piece of wire, well route it through the frame, through the hole were going to use.Then, well slide the block on and then push into the frame. Well also put a kink in the wire to help pull the block through the frame and out the hole. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram - Hidden Hitch- Video

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram we're going to install part number 87530 from Hidden Hitch. First thing we're going to do is go ahead and lower our spare tire, we dont have to do this but it makes things a little easier to see. Next we'll go ahead and remove the trailer board cover from the top of the bumper. We'll use a screw driver to help push up it and out of the way. Next we'll go ahead and install the 3/4-inch hex bolt and conical toothwasher. When we put in place we'll make sure that the teeth on the conical toothwasher or pointed towards the bumper. more
